President Donald Trump returned fire after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made some false claims about him.
President Donald Trump held an exceptionally brief closed-door meeting with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. The meeting came to an abrupt end when Trump shared that he could no longer work with Democrats as long as congressional investigations against him continued.
This caused Pelosi to come out and announce that, “we believe that the president of the United States is engaged in a cover-up.”
However Trump was quick to respond holding a brief press conference in the Rose Garden.
“I don’t do cover-ups. You people know that probably better than anybody,” Trump told reporters.
Trump further warned that “There’s a danger here,” saying, “if someday a Democrat becomes president and you have a Republican House, they can impeach him for any reason, or her. Any reason. We can’t allow that to happen. We can’t allow it to happen.”
