Joe Scarborough started off the week on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” by calling out the media for not having any restraint when it comes to reporting on who he called the “latest fad,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Looking back on his own experiences as a congressman, Scarborough recounted how the media would “seize” on any “stupid” comment that new congressional members might utter.
He than signaled that the media need to roll back the coverage of AOC, noting that she only garnered 15,000 votes in her election.
“AOC, I think she won her primary, which was basically her election,” said Scarborough. “She got 15,000 votes. She won by 3,500 votes. She got 15,000 votes. Hillary Clinton got what, 63, 64, 65 million votes? I think the press needs to keep everything in perspective.”
Scarborough added, “I know they like to chase the latest fad, but they’ve done it with the Republicans for years, focusing on stupid comments by backbenchers. I think they probably need to keep this in better perspective.”
However with the litany of inane things that come from Ocasio-Cortez’s mouth, the media could sustain itself on her stupidity alone through 2019.
