House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is being taken to task by New York Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin for her “horrible judgement.”
On Mother’s Day Zeldin appeared on “Fox & Friends” where the openly Jewish representative hammered away at Pelosi choosing a Texas Imam to lead the opening prayer, even though that Imam previously likened “Israel to Nazis.”
Zeldin shared on air, “Either the Speaker’s office did not vet this imam at all, or worse, they did vet the imam and then decided that it would have been okay for the imam to come onto the floor of the House of Representatives anyway. Let’s just say all you found is that he compares Israel to Nazis, that would be enough to tell that member or other members of that caucus ‘how about you find another imam if you want to have an imam to give an opening prayer?’”
But Zeldin wasn’t done there. He also pointed out other instances that should have disqualified Imam Omar Suleiman from selection such as, “comparing Israel to terrorists, calling for a third Palestinian intifada, or the posts on social media that are supportive of Muslim Brotherhood.”
One such example of Suleiman’s ineligibility was a social media post were he supported the “3rd Intifada” during conflicts between Israel and Hamas.
“God willing on this blessed night as the 3rd Intifada begins, the beginning of the end of Zionism is here. May Allah help us overcome this monster, protect the innocent of the world, and accept the murdered as martyrs,” Suleiman’s post read.
