As lawmakers continue to slam Democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her constantly incorrect arguments, the freshman congresswoman took to Instagram Live to essentially give herself a free pass.
Trying to endear herself to viewers with a video featuring wine and an IKEA project, AOC suggested that her age was the reason she constantly got the fundamentals of government wrong. She also overconfidently suggested she had “plenty of time to learn.”
“I’m in this to do the most good each day. That’s what I’m here to do,” she said before shrugging her shoulders. “So, that’s what it is.”
She then followed up with her excuse, “And guess what? I’m 29! I’m the youngest woman to ever be elected to the United States Congress! I have plenty of time to learn! And I’m not afraid to make mistakes and iterate in public, either!”
She continues to rant throughout the minute long video but her point was clearly made. Apparently AOC believes that being young means you don’t have to worry about things like, being factually correct.
